Summary. Photo Booth Studio is designed so that your photos stay yours. The App has no user accounts, and we do not operate servers that receive, store, or view your photos or videos. Everything you capture is stored on your device, and it only leaves your device when you choose to share it or when you connect your own cloud storage account. The only data that reaches us is anonymous usage analytics and crash reports, described below.
1 Information we do not collect
- We do not require or offer user accounts or registration.
- We do not receive, store, or have access to your photos or videos.
- We do not collect names, contact lists, or precise location.
- We do not sell data, share data for advertising, and the App contains no ads.
2 Photos and videos
Photos and videos captured in the App are stored locally on your device, inside the App's storage. You control them entirely:
- Saving to your device's photo library happens only if you use that feature, and only after you grant Photos permission.
- Deleting an event or composition in the App, or deleting the App itself, removes the corresponding files from the App's storage.
3 Device permissions
- Camera: required to take photos in the booth. Used only while you use the camera features.
- Photo Library (add-only): used to save your finished compositions to your photo library when you request it.
The App does not request microphone or location access.
4 Sharing features
Sharing is always started by you or your event guests at the device, and is performed by Apple system services or apps installed on your device (Mail, iMessage, WhatsApp, AirDrop, the iOS share sheet, and AirPrint for printing).
If a guest types an email address to receive their photo, that address is used on the device solely to compose the message. It is not transmitted to us and we never see it. Event hosts should be aware that photos shared by guests travel through the services the guest chooses (e.g., their email provider), which are governed by those services' own privacy policies.
5 Optional cloud backup (Google Drive and Dropbox)
You may optionally connect your own Google Drive or Dropbox account to automatically back up event photos.
- Uploads go to YOUR cloud account, in folders the App creates. We do not have access to your cloud account or its contents.
- Google Drive access uses the limited "drive.file" scope, which only allows the App to see and manage files it created — not the rest of your Drive.
- Sign-in is handled by Google and Dropbox using OAuth; the App never sees your cloud account password. Access tokens are stored securely on your device and can be revoked at any time by signing out in the App, or from your Google or Dropbox account security settings.
- If you generate a shareable link or QR code for an event gallery, anyone with that link or QR code can view or download those files. Share links and QR codes carefully, and use your cloud provider's settings to disable a link when the event is over.
Your use of Google Drive and Dropbox is subject to their privacy policies:

6 Analytics and crash reporting
The App uses Google Firebase in release builds for:
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics): anonymous usage events — for example, that a photo was uploaded, a purchase was started, or a feature was used — together with general device information (device model, OS version, language, country) and app-instance identifiers generated by Firebase. We use this solely to understand how features are used and to improve the App.
- Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): crash logs and device state at the time of a crash, used solely to find and fix bugs.
These reports do not include your photos, videos, or the content of anything you type. Firebase is operated by Google LLC; its processing is described at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
7 Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive your payment details. To verify an active subscription, the App sends its App Store receipt to Apple's receipt-validation service; the result (e.g., subscription active/expired) is stored securely in your device's Keychain. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
8 Event Mode password
The Event Mode password you set is used only on your device to lock the booth screen. It is not transmitted to us.
9 Data retention and deletion
Because your content and settings live on your device (and, if you enable backup, in your own cloud account), you are in control of retention:
- Delete photos, compositions, templates, or events inside the App;
- Delete files from your own Google Drive or Dropbox at any time;
- Delete the App to remove all locally stored data, settings, and tokens.
Analytics and crash data held by Firebase are retained according to Google's retention policies and are not linked to your identity by us.
10 Security
Purchase state and cloud access tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Photos and settings are stored in the App's sandboxed storage, protected by iOS device security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, encryption at rest).
11 Children
Photo Booth Studio is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Event hosts are responsible for obtaining any consent required to photograph minors at their events.
12 Event guests
If your photo was taken at an event using Photo Booth Studio, the photos are held by the event host on their device and, if backup was enabled, in the host's own cloud storage. We do not have access to them. Please contact the event host with any request to access or delete your photos.
13 Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, or Mexico's LFPDPPP), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not hold personal data about you beyond anonymous analytics, most requests can be fulfilled directly on your device as described in Section 9. For anything else, contact us at contact@booth-studio.com and we will help.
