Why holiday parties need a photo booth
Christmas parties gather people who rarely appear in photos together — extended family in matching sweaters, or an entire department out of work mode. Start with a holiday template

Winter light is the real challenge
Holiday parties happen after dark, in rooms lit by string lights and candles — atmospheric for guests, difficult for cameras. Three fixes, in order of impact:
- Add one dedicated light. A ring light or battery LED panel next to the iPad, aimed at the posing spot, matters more than any camera setting.
- Keep string lights behind the guests, not behind the camera — they become a soft, festive bokeh backdrop instead of glare.
- For the strongest results, connect a camera. A Sony or Canon connected over USB handles dim rooms far better than any tablet camera, with live view still on the iPad screen.
Backdrops and props for the season
- Backdrops: a wrapping-paper wall (inexpensive and striking), a plaid blanket hung flat, a sequin curtain in red or gold, or the Christmas tree itself off to one side of the frame.
- Props: Santa hats, reindeer antlers, oversized ornaments, "Nice" and "Naughty" signs on sticks. Keep them in a basket at the booth.

Office party notes
